'Keeper Alex McCarthy was sent off as Town lost 3-1 to Leeds at Elland Road.

Goals from Robert Snodgrass, Ross McCormack and Luciano Becchio saw Simon Grayson's side come from behind to win, after Andy Drury had given Town a first-half lead.

Paul Jewell made just one change to the side that drew with Blackpool, with Daryl Murphy returning the starting line-up in place of Josh Carson.

Town made a bright start to the game and came close to scoring inside the first minute. Daryl Murphy dribbled his way past two markers before crossing into the box, but Jason Scotland couldn't quite get anything on the cross.

Murphy was looking lively and he went close after 12 minutes, seeing a header cleared off the line by O'Dea from a Drury corner.

However, a quick counter-attack seconds later almost saw former Blue Andros Townsend open the scoring for the hosts, but the winger sliced his effort from close range wide after being played in by McCormack.

Leeds then went close again after 19 minutes. McCormack was again the provider, teasing his way past Carlos Edwards before crossing for Mikael Forssell, but the Finnish striker was beaten in the air by Aaron Cresswell, who headed behind for a corner.

Town were playing the better football of the two sides though and fashioned another goal-scoring opportunity on the half-hour mark.

Neat play from Scotland saw him send Lee Martin through one-on-one with Leeds 'keeper Andy Lonergan, but the stopper denied the Town winger with his legs, while Jay Emmanuel-Thomas volleyed the rebound over the crossbar.

But Blues didn't have to wait much longer until they broke the deadlock.

Drury played a short corner to Cresswell, who in turn played the ball back to the midfielder, before Drury fired in a shot at goal that went under the body of Lonergan and trickled over the line for his first goal for the Club after 34 minutes.

Town were playing some superb one-touch football and a good move involving Martin and Emmanuel-Thomas almost brought about another goal, but the former Arsenal man's long range effort clipped the top of the bar and went behind for a goal-kick with Lonergan well beaten.

Seconds later the referee blew for half-time and Town went in a goal ahead at the break.

Town started the second-half well and Martin fired over the bar from distance just two minutes after the restart.

Three minutes later and Emmanuel-Thomas showed a great turn of pace to leave three Leeds defenders in his wake, before sending over a dangerous cross that was just over the head of Scotland.

Leeds did go close to equalising after 63 minutes though, but Snodgrass failed to hit the target after meeting Aiden White's deep cross at the back-post.

Despite Simon Grayson's side coming back into the game, it was Town who were creating the better chances and Blues went close twice in quick succession.

First Murphy saw a shot deflected over for a corner, before Ibrahima Sonko suffered the same result following a Tommy Smith lay-off.

However shortly after Town were dealt a major blow as 'keeper McCarthy was shown a straight red card.

The Reading loanee came racing out of his goal to clear the danger, following a long punt upfield, only for a mix up between himself and Sonko saw him handle the ball outside his area and the referee had no hesitation in sending him off.

Arran Lee-Barrett came off the bench to go in goal, with striker Scotland the unlucky one to be sacrificed.

The momentum had now swung and with the Elland Road crowd behind them, Leeds soon equalised.

Casual play from Sonko in the box allowed Snodgrass to sneak in unnoticed and place the ball past Lee-Barrett to level the scores up.

Lee-Barrett did well to keep out a Snodgrass header after 80 minutes, but the hosts were to take the lead soon after.

McCormack chased onto a forward pass and got in between Sonko and Lee-Barrett before tapping into an empty net with eight minutes remaining.

And as the game ran into injury time, Leeds sealed the win through striker Becchio who calmly slotted past Lee-Barrett after reacting quickest to a long ball into the Town box.
