David McGoldrick has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for September.
The Town striker scored four goals in that period, a brace in each of the wins against Middlesbrough and Brighton.
“We’re delighted to see Didzy pick up this award and it’s well deserved,” said Town boss Mick McCarthy.
“He was excellent for us last season when he joined on loan but he has stepped up another level this year.”
Sky Bet Football League pundit Don Goodman added: “Mick McCarthy has done a great job in restoring David’s confidence and it has started to pay off, with five goals already this season.
“David has led the line well and the two goals he scored last weekend against Brighton make him the stand out player in the Championship for the month.”
It’s the second time Didzy has won the monthly award, after being named League One Player of the Month for December while on loan at Coventry last season.
He becomes the first Town player to lift the trophy since Connor Wickham in February 2011.
