Striker arrives from Posh until January 16

Town have signed Tyrone Barnett from Peterborough on loan until January 19.

The 27-year-old striker has put pen to paper on this deal this afternoon but will not be able to feature for Blues against Posh at the weekend.

Tyrone was a youth at West Brom but after being released by the club, he moved into non-League football.

His goals record saw him win a professional contract at Macclesfield in the summer of 2010 and a return of 13 goals in 51 games saw the frontman join Crawley in June 2011.

He became one of the most in-demand strikers outside the top two divisions last term, scoring 14 goals in 33 games to help Crawley on the way to promotion from League Two.

Town were among a number of clubs interested in Tyrone last season but he eventually joined Peterborough, initially on loan in February before completing a £1m plus move in the summer.
