Now Paul wants a reaction as Town are rocked by Blackpool

Paul Jewell said his players suffered a rude awakening after going down heavily at Blackpool.

Blues were two down but not out of the game at the break but conceded another four in the second-half to suffer a first defeat of the season in unwanted style.

“It’s going to be a painful night,” said the Town boss.

“Blackpool were better than us in the first-half but I didn’t see that scoreline and performance coming after the break.

“We capitulated to be honest. It was a bad time to concede the second goal, just before half-time and then we gave them another one early in the second-half. It was basic errors for their goals and we weren’t good enough in both boxes.

“We did okay against Blackburn and were very good at Watford and people were saying some nice things about us but today is a rude awakening for us.

“It’s good that we have a game on Tuesday and it will be a test for the players in how they react to that defeat.”
