Striker ends contract by mutual consent after failing to break into the first-team picture at Portman Road

Ipswich Town have today mutually cancelled the contract of striker James Alabi.

The forward joined the Blues in the summer, after leaving Stoke City, and made his debut for the Club in the August Capital One Cup win over Doncaster- scoring the third of Town’s four goals that night.

The striker took in a spell away from the Club during a loan spell with Grimsby but spent the majority of his time at Portman Road playing for the U21 Development side.

James now departs Suffolk for pastures new and we wish him well.
