Daryl Murphy believes he has returned to a ‘hungry’ Town side and is relishing his third spell with the Blues.
The Republic of Ireland international rejoined Town on a season-long loan from Celtic last week and made his ‘debut’ for the Club during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Huddersfield at Portman Road.
“There are a few new faces around the place from when I was here last season and everyone seems hungry to get out there and play,” Daryl told the Club website.
“The manager wants to assemble a group of players that want to work hard for the Club and I think he’s doing just that.
“At the minute there is a good level of competition for places which is something that we want, and probably need, in this division.
“I wanted to be at a club where I’m fighting for a place in the side, and knowing Ipswich as well as I do, it was an easy decision to come back here.
“I think the manager is trying to bring in a few other players and that’s something that we would welcome as a side, as you need to have strength in depth.”
