Coach encouraged by win over Hammers

Chris Hutchings said Town can take plenty of positives from the win over West Ham.

Goals from Michael Chopra, Luke Chambers and Jason Scotland gave Blues a 3-1 win over the Premier League visitors at Portman Road in an encouraging performance.

“We’ve had a couple of disappointing games but that was a massive improvement today,” said Town’s assistant manager.

“There were a lot of positives to take from the game. We passed the ball well, looked more compact as a unit and played with a good tempo.

“Lee Martin came back into the team after injury and it was good to get some competitive football in him. We’ve got Tommy Smith back from the Olympics and lads like Ronan Murray came in and did well.

“We had a young side out there and through the 90 minutes, we can take plenty of positives.”
