Terry Connor told the Club website that he is delighted to see Tommy Smith go from being a danger at set-pieces to delivering.
The Town defender scored twice in the 4-0 win over Middlesbrough to take his tally to four goals for the campaign, making him Blues' joint third highest scorer of the campaign.
“We have spoken to Tommy about his defensive side and improving aspects of his play and he has taken that on board,” Terry told www.itfc.co.uk.
“We have also talked about the other end of the pitch. He had chipped in with one or two goals before the weekend and looked a threat.
“It was great to see him against Middlesbrough turning that threat into goals.”
Meanwhile Mick McCarthy was back at the training ground today after missing the win over Boro with a virus.
