Posted on: Fri 03 Feb 2012

Town's Under 18s lost 3-1 to Arsenal this afternoon at the Gunners' London Colney training ground.

Russell Osman's young charges eventually went down 3-1, with the Blues goal coming from captain Callum Bennett.

Arsenal started the game brightly and went in front after just three minutes through Kristoffer Olsson, which is how it stayed until half-time.

Nine minutes after the restart Town pulled level through skipper Bennett, who curled home from just outside the area.

Jack Marriott then saw an effort saved, before the hosts retook the lead after 64 minutes through Philip Roberts. Then with 12 minutes left to play the Gunners sealed the win thanks to a strike from Josh Rees from the edge of the area that crept into the corner.

Arsenal could have extended their lead in injury time, but Nigel Neita missed a penalty after goalscorer Roberts had been brought down in the box.
