Town made it just one defeat in 14 games with David Norris grabbing his first goal of the season but Blues had chances to have taken all three points at a freezing Walkers Stadium.

Norris gave Town a dream start with a goal in the first attack, the midfielder forcing Jack Colback's cross in via a deflection from Ryan McGivern.

Jon Walters and Gareth McAuley both went close to extending Town's lead before Steve Howard levelled seven minutes before the break.

Walters was denied twice more in the second-half with Blues creating the better chances but it took a brilliant save from Arran Lee-Barrett to prevent Matty Fryatt from close range as the points were shared.

Town boss Roy Keane made three changes to the side that beat Blackpool in the FA Cup last week with Alex Bruce and Pim Balkestein coming in at full-back and Connor Wickham starting up front, Liam Rosenior, David Wright and Stern John dropping to the bench.

Blues were quick out of the blocks again with Norris giving the travelling Town fans reason to warm their hands inside the first 20 seconds, the midfielder getting on the end of Colback's cross and the ball going in off  McGivern.

Lee-Barrett clawed the ball away from goal following Lloyd Dyer's cross while at the other end, Michael Morrison prevented Gareth McAuley getting on the end of a Jaime Peters' delivery.

Town scrambled clear a Dyer free-kick clear then Chris Weale saved comfortably from Jon Walters' header and then spectacularly from McAuley.

Grant Leadbitter just got high enough to deflect Howard's header onto the bar, Peters flashed the ball across the Leicester box as chances opened up at either end, Fryatt then denied by Lee-Barrett at his nearpost.

The Foxes were level on 38 minutes, the ball falling into Howard's path after Dyer had been fouled and the former Luton frontman slid the ball past Lee-Barrett.

The Town 'keeper produced a brilliant save to deny Fryatt in the first exchanges of the second-half but it was Blues who carried the greater threat, Walters twice denied by Weale, then heading over from a teasing Colback cross.

Bruce, who picked up a yellow card on his return to action, was replaced by Rosenior before the hour in Town's first change.

Leicester made a double change for the last 20 minutes, Paul Gallagher and Martyn Waghorn on for Richie Wellens and Dyer, Town introducing Owen Garvan for Wickham.

Damien Delaney did well to block Andy King's strike after Howard had set him up, Blues introducing John for Colback as the game entered the last 10 minutes, Howard making way for Yann Kermorgant as both sides made final changes.

Gallagher wasted a free-kick following a Rosenior foul with Leadbitter sending a 25 yard set-piece over the bar  in the final seconds as Town chased that elusive winner.
