David Healy scored his first goal for Town as Blues came from behind to earn a point.

Cliff Byrne gave the home side the lead midway through the second-half, heading in from close range from Martyn Woolford's cross and Gary Hooper went agonisingly close to extending Iron's advantage soon after but his volley went just wide.

Healy had only been on the pitch five minutes when he showed the goalpoacher's instinct to convert from close range after Jon Walters had set him up.

Hooper went close again for Scunthorpe while Connor Wickham was denied late on as the points were shared at a very cold Glanford Park.

Town boss Roy Keane stayed with the same side for only the second time this season, with Shane O'Connor keeping his place at left-back.

Blues started the better with Jon Walters hooking the ball against the bar in the opening exchanges, the Town skipper then setting up an opening for
Daryl Murphy that brought a save from Joe Murphy in the home goal.

Grant Leadbitter headed over from Carlos Edwards' cross while at the other end, Martyn Woolford fired over from distance.

David Norris failed to get any purchase on his shot after spinning in the box, while it needed a terrific clearance from David Mirfin to keep out Gareth McAuley getting on the end of David Wright's cross.

Walters hit the woodwork for the second time with a lob against the bar after referee Andy Haines played advantage following a foul on the striker.
Murphy saved well again for Scunthorpe, tipping Damien Delaney's effort over the bar after Edwards' clever backheel.

Sam Togwell picked up the first yellow card of the game for a foul on Leadbitter. Murphy saved from Jack Colback's header following an Edwards' cross before Wright was booked for a foul on Paul Hayes.

Hayes had the final effort of a first-half Town had mainly dictated, letting fly from 20 yards but Brian Murphy made it to the half-time whistle without really being forced into action in the Blues' goal.

Wright was forced to clear a dangerous ball into the box as Scunthorpe started the second-half in bright fashion and it needed Brian Murphy to force out Gary Hooper's close range effort.

Daryl Murphy was crowded out after a burst into the Iron box, while at the other end Brian Murphy held firm from Woolfords's overhead kick.

Murphy was called into action again in the Town goal to deal with Matt Sparrow's header as Iron pushed Blues back in the opening 20 minutes of the half, Wright clearing from Hayes.

Norris had his effort blocked, Colback firing the rebound over from distance before Town made a double change, Norris and Daryl Murphy making way for Connor Wickham and Healy on 68 minutes.

Seconds later though Scunthorpe were ahead, Byrne heading in from two yards after Town had failed to clear Woolford's cross.

Hooper was inches away from adding a second a minute later, the frontman volleying past Murphy's post while Healy fired across goal and wide after Leadbitter's pass.

The Northern Ireland international made no mistake though 15 minutes from time, converting from close range for a his first goal in a year after Walters had set him up.

Woolford made way for Jonathan Forte for the last 10 minutes, Wickham and Joe Murphy booked after a scuffle, Leadbitter also yellow carded for a foul.
Hooper dragged a shot across goal, then Healy was kept out at the other end as he looked to get on the loose ball in the box as Town ended a fourth successive away game with a 16th draw of the season.
