Roy Keane's side equalled a Club record 18th draw of the season with a point at Play-Off chasing Swansea.

The two teams shared 33 Championship draws this season going into the game and that total had increased by the final whistle in a match of few clear cut openings.

Nathan Dyer spurned two chances in the opening quarter of an hour for the home side and former Blue, Shefki Kuqi, failed to hit the target with a close range header in added on time while for Town, Daryl Murphy had the best chance, his shot beaten away by Dorus De Vries in the second-half.

Town made two changes to the side that went down at home to Plymouth in midweek, Jaime Peters coming in at left-back with Grant Leadbitter returning to a three man central midfield, Pablo Counago and Carlos Edwards dropping to the bench.

Dyer went close to giving the home side the lead inside three minutes, the wideman rounding off a free-flowing move with a right footed effort that hit the post.

The former Southampton winger provided the danger again soon after, Brian Murphy quickly off his line to close down the angle.

Leadbitter couldn't get on the end of Jon Walters' cross as Town threatened, while at the other end David Norris blocked Darren Pratley's strike on the edge of the box.

Damien Delaney cleared well from Kuqi, then neat work between Angel Rangel and Andrea Orlandi created an opening but Rangel ran the ball out after getting behind Peters and Shane O'Connor, who was operating in a left midfield role.

Norris fired wide from 30 yards, Leadbitter then testing De Vries - also from distance, Brian Murphy holding firm from Rangel's cross.

Town's 'keeper did well again to gather under Kuqi's challenge as the Finn tried to get on the end of a cross, Gareth McAuley taking a knock to his shoulder in the incident.

Pratley picked up a yellow card after catching Norris as the first-half ended in deadlock.

Mark Gower replaced Dyer at the break in a change for Swansea, Murphy creating the first opening of the second-half, his shot from an acute angle forced behind by De Vries for a corner.

Town made a change just before the hour with O'Connor making way for Edwards, Walters pushing forward to partner Murphy and the two linked up immediately, De Vries saving from Murphy, then Norris dragging a left foot shot wide.

Kuqi headed over from Orlandi's cross, Pratley's effort then blocked as he burst into the box, Ashley Williams heading inches wide from Orlandi's free-kick as the Swans enjoyed a flurry of chances.

Swansea made a second change midway through the half with Joe Allen on for Orlandi, Lee Trundle joining the action soon after to support Kuqi in attack, Leon Britton making way.

Leadbitter fizzed a shot across the Swansea goal in a rare opening for either side in the last 15 minutes, while in the last minute of the 90, Kuqi had a terrific chance for the home side but failed to hit the target with his header.

De Vries was forced into action to save from Leadbitter's free-kick in the last effort at goal as the teams shared the points and added to that draws tally.
