Owen Garvan and Alex Bruce were both in action for the Republic of Ireland in a 3-1 win over Lagos in a friendly.

Alex played the full game while Owen was a second-half substitute as new Republic boss Giovanni Trapattoni watched on.

The Irish are away for a week in a training camp on the Algarve in preparation for friendlies against Serbia at Croke Park on May 24 and Colombia at Fulham's Craven Cottage on May 29.

Meanwhile Billy Clarke was in the Republic of Ireland U21 side that drew with Iraq 0-0 in the Malaysia Cup.
