GILLINGHAM 1 TOWN 1
A Tommy Miller penalty maintained Town's unbeaten pre-season campaign as Richard Wright made his first appearance for Blues following his return to the Club.
Wright, who joined the Club on Monday from West Ham, played the 90 minutes at Priestfield but was beaten late in the first-half by a low drive from Simeon Jackson.
Miller, who has earlier gone close with a shot that was palmed around the post by Gills' 'keeper Simon Royce, levelled the scores on the hour from the spot after Danny Haynes had been brought down in the box by Simon King.
Pablo Counago twice went close for Blues with Jon Walters forcing Royce into a smart save before Pim Balkenstein's goal bound drive was forced out by Royce after the Dutch defender had burst forward.
David Wright played in three different positions as Town made several changes to the line-up, with former Czech Republic U21 international Roman Hubnik operating in the centre of the Blues defence as well as at full-back.
Around 200 Town fans made the trip to Priestfield as Blues stepped up the pre-season schedule that will see more action at Tiptree on Thursday night before West Brom visit Portman Road on Saturday.
Ticket details for that 3pm kick-off can be found on the ticket page of the Club website.
