JIM SALUTES RIGHT MIX

Posted on: Wed 28 Jan 2009

Jim Magilton praised his players for showing a combination of grit and quality after Blues took all three points at Barnsley.

A brace inside the first 10 minutes from Jon Stead put Town in command but the Tykes fought back in the second-half after Daniel Bogdanovic reduced the arrears two minutes after the break.

"It's our third away win in a row and that is a run to be proud about," said the Town boss.

"We got off to a great start with Jon Stead getting two good goals and could have had more before half-time. We showed a lot of quality.

"We knew they would come at us in the second-half and they did that. We had to dig in and show some grit and character and there was a great determination amongst the players to get a result.

"Going to Barnsley and getting three points is always tough so I'm delighted for the players.

"There is a great spirit in our dressing-room. I've always had belief in my players since day one and we are building up a bit of momentum now with three wins and a draw in four League games.

"We've got a massive match to come against Plymouth on Saturday and we want to keep that run going."
