Jon Walters is on target to return to pre-season training at the same time as the rest of the first-team squad.

The 25-year-old missed much of the final two months of the campaign after rupturing ankle ligaments in the goalless draw at Wolves in March and then aggravating the injury at Bristol City.

"Jon is progressing quite well and will go for a scan in early June," Town physio Matt Byard told the Club website.

"We will know the severity of the bone bruising then and he will see a specialist. It's expected that he will be able to start some jogging at that stage and by the end of June it's hoped that he will be taking part in football drills.

"Providing there are no hold-ups along the way, it's anticipated that Jon will be able to return to pre-season training at the same time as the other players."
