Liam Trotter has been offered a new contract by Town.

The 20-year-old midfielder's current deal expires in June but having met up with Blues' boss Roy Keane he is now in discussions over extending his stay at Portman Road.

"I have had a chat with Liam and we have offered him a new contract," Roy confirmed to the Club website. "I've told him that I'd like to keep him at the Club."

Liam, a former Academy graduate at Town - he was in the team that lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2005 - has made 15 appearances for Blues, scoring two goals but he spent much of last term on loan.

He had three months at Grimsby and then finished the season on loan at Scunthorpe, playing as a second-half substitute in the club's League One Play-Off Final win over Millwall at Wembley that saw Iron make an immediate return to the Championship following relegation in 2007/08.

Liam is the last of the 13 players, who are out of contract at Portman Road next month, to meet up with Roy, with three other Blues offered new deals.Alex Bruce has signed a new two year contract while Shane Supple and Ed Upson are close to extending their stay at the Club.

Ivan Campo, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Dan Harding, Tommy Miller, Jai Reason, Kurt Robinson, Chris Casement and Matt Richards have all been released. Tommy is joining Sheffield Wednesday on a two year contract while Billy is reported to have been offered a deal by Notts County.
