NEWCASTLE GAME LIVE ON BBC

Posted on: Wed 01 Jul 2009

Town's home game against Newcastle on September 26 will be shown live on BBC with kick-off at 5.30pm.

The showdown with the promotion favourites is one of four Championship games confirmed by the BBC, with the broadcaster showing live English league football this season for the first time since 1987.

Whether the game is to be shown on BBC1 or BBC2 has yet to be confirmed.

The BBC's package includes 10 live Championship games with the three other confirmed matches so far being: West Brom v Newcastle on Saturday August 8, Derby v QPR on Saturday October 24 and Cardiff v Nottingham Forest on Sunday, November 1.

All four matches will also be available on BBC Sports Online.

Sky TV confirmed last week that Town's opening game of the season at Coventry will be shown live by the satellite broadcaster, with the match switched to Sunday August 9, kick-off 12.45pm.
