Gareth McAuley is a major doubt for Saturday's game against Newcastle with a calf injury.

The Northern Ireland international, who missed last week's draw at Doncaster through suspension after being red carded in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, has not trained this week.

"Gareth got a knock in the warm up before the Forest game and wouldn't have been available last week anyway," says Town boss Roy Keane.

"He has done some light jogging this week but has not trained with the main group.

"We will have another look at him today but he's very doubtful for Saturday."
