WRIGHT APPROACH

Posted on: Thu 29 Oct 2009

David Wright says his return to the team should act as an incentive for the other Blues out of the first team picture at the moment.

The 30-year-old defender had to watch on from the sidelines having spent four weeks out of the squad but he returned to action against
Swansea earlier this month and has received praise from Town boss Roy Keane for his attitude and application.

"It was a tough time, being totally out of the picture for a while," David told the Club website.

"There were some dark days but I kept my head down and worked hard.

"I played in the reserves and used those occasions to try and show the manager what I am capable of.

"There is no point moaning about it when you are not in the side. You have to work hard in training, play well in the games that come your way and show the manager that you deserve a place in his team.

"Perhaps the players that are out of the side can look at my situation and see that the door is never shut for anyone to step through.

"If you keep doing the right things the manager has shown that you will get your chance."
