ROY LOOKS TO BUILD ON WIN

Posted on: Sun 29 Nov 2009
Roy Keane is hoping his side can use the first away win of the season at Cardiff as a springboard to climb the table.

Second-half goals from Jon Walters and Jon Stead gave Town a 2-1 win after Peter Whittingham's opener for the Bluebirds.

"Our form has not been too bad but you hope the result can see us kick on now because it's wins we need," said the Town boss.

"We had chances before our goal and Jon Walters has scored from the hardest one we had but what pleased me was that we were creating chances.

"We may have had a bit of luck with the winner but Steady came on and made an impact. Our subs did well for us, Quinner [Alan Quinn] was full of energy and Arran [Lee-Barrett] was solid.

"Stern John was a handful for their defence and I was pleased with him. We didn't want to play him for 90 minutes but with Wrighty going off we only had two changes we could make. He will be better for the game."

The only downside for Town was a knee injury to Richard Wright, with Arran making his debut as a first-half replacement.

"Wrighty will have a scan on Monday. Obviously it's a blow losing him but we will know more tomorrow," added Roy.
