GAME OFF

Posted on: Sat 19 Dec 2009

Town's game at Scunthorpe has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.

The Glanford Park surface has been covered by a frost sheet since midweek but temperatures dropped well below zero overnight.

Town boss Roy Keane and Scunthorpe's Nigel Adkins joined the referee in an early morning inspection of the pitch and all agreed that it was unplayable.

No new date has been set yet for the rearranged fixture.

The postponement means Jon Walters and Grant Leadbitter will now carry their suspension through to the Crystal Palace game on Boxing Day, with Stern John also unavailable for that match under the terms of his loan from the Eagles.
