TOMMY JOIN BEES ON LOAN

Posted on: Thu 07 Jan 2010

Tommy Smith has become the latest Blue to join Brentford on loan.

The 19-year-old defender will train with the Bees today after agreeing a one month loan stay at Griffin Park.

Pim Balkestein has just returned to Portman Road after a six week stay with the League One club while former Town youngsters Jordan Rhodes, Dean Bowditch and Billy Clarke also had spells there last season.

"I spoke to a few of the lads that have been at Brentford before and they all said what a good club it is," Tommy told the Club website.

"It is a chance for me to go out and play regular first-team football. That's what I need at the moment and I'm really looking forward to it."
