HAITI APPEAL SHIRT CHALLENGE

Posted on: Wed 27 Jan 2010

Red Cross volunteer and Ipswich Town fan Marcus Brien stripped off in front of the Portman Road faithful on Tuesday night to reveal a Norwich City shirt!

The supporter had raised over £1000 for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal by asking fans to donate and vote for which shirt he should wear on the pitch at half time during Town's game against West Brom.

Marcus comments that "The Haitian Football Team's motto is; "Strength Comes Through Unity." I am especially appealing to football fans to unite and hold similar events with their rivals. Ipswich and Norwich fans are proving this can be done in good spirits and in a way that engages the whole community. Our actions to date have already been commended by the Federation of Haitian Football, who have stated that our support for their nation is keeping them going."

The signed Ipswich Town shirt will be auctioned off shortly to raise more funds for the Appeal.  Watch this website for more details on how to bid.
