TOMMY STAYS WITH BEES BUT...

Posted on: Fri 05 Feb 2010

Roy Keane has hinted that Tommy Smith may return to Portman Road before the end of his scheduled loan to Brentford.

The Town boss has given the green light for the 19-year-old defender to extend his loan to the maximum 93 days at Griffin Park after Tommy impressed in his first month at the League One club but Blues have a 24 hour recall agreement in place.

"Tommy is playing games week in, week out and that is what going out on loan is all about," Roy told the Club website.

"Sometimes a manager can be selfish and hold on to all his players but I like my players playing football.

"He's enjoying his football there and we're happy for him to stay at Brentford. He'll be back after the 93 days but it wouldn't surprise me if it was before that, maybe over the next few weeks. We'll see what develops."
