Tommy Smith has received his first call-up for New Zealand for their friendly against Mexico next month.

The 19-year-old defender, who is currently on loan at Brentford, has pledged his allegiance to the country where he lived between eight and 16 before returning to England to join Town's Academy.

The All Whites face Mexico in Los Angeles on March 3 as they prepare for their first World Cup finals since 1982.
