Roy Keane was pleased with the team performance and the response to the defeat at Blackpool as Blues eased past Play-Off contenders Cardiff.,

Daryl Murphy scored both goals in the 2-0 win with the Sunderland loanee denied a hat-trick by the heroics of Bluebirds' 'keeper David Marshall.

"We needed a reaction to the weekend and I was pleased we got that," Roy told the Club website.

"Their 'keeper made two or three outstanding saves but we got the goals and could have had more.

"Daryl has looked a goal threat since he came here and could have had four tonight. I've been very pleased with him. He has five goals and could easily have had eight or nine.

"Shane O'Connor can be pleased with his performance as well. He gave the fans a lift with his energy and keeping a clean sheet is a positive for the back four.

"Cardiff are a good side but apart from Michael Chopra's chance in the first-half, they had to make do with shots from distance.

"It was a good win for us and a good reaction from the defeat at Blackpool but we need to follow it up against Scunthorpe on Saturday."
