BOSS: I'LL TAKE THAT ALL DAY LONG
Roy Keane was delighted to take the points with a late winner against Scunthorpe and says he will look at the video before deciding whether to appeal over Damien Delaney's red card.
Connor Wickham became the Club's youngest goalscorer since Jason Dozzell marked his debut with a goal against Coventry in 1984 when he showed great composure to finish from eight yards for his first League goal.
"It was just what we needed," Roy told the Club website. "We didn't play well, it wasn't a good game but there have been many times when we have played well and dropped points.
"The goal came at a great time. We've not had enough of those in tight games this season. Only Pablo's against Coventry comes to mind.
"Credit to Scunthorpe they closed us down quickly. We didn't pass the ball well and we couldn't get a flow to the game like we did against Cardiff.
"But it was a great finish from Connor. I was surprised how well it opened up for him and it was a nice way to finish the game. I'll take that all day long."
Cliff Byrne and Damien Delaney were sent-off for fouls - both decisions were controversial.
"I thought the referee did well but maybe the red cards were harsh," added the boss.
"I'm not sure for what reason Damien was sent-off. We will have to wait and see what the referee says. It certainly wasn't for preventing a goalscoring opportunity.
"I'll look at the video before deciding whether to appeal. You have to be careful about appeals - as we know."
