Brian Murphy is looking for Town to learn from the mistakes made this season and put it right when the new campaign gets underway in August.
The 'keeper has been part of Blues' turnaround over the second half of the term, establishing himself as first choice since coming into the side against Sheffield Wednesday in February and is hoping Town finish the year in style against their steel city Sheffield United on Sunday.
"We want to finish with a win and with some pride in our performance, then come back after the summer break making sure that we don't let what happened this year be repeated next season," Brian told the Club website.
"The players have had to dig in deep to get results and it's not been pretty at times. We'd all like to play attractive, attacking football but we were at the wrong end of the table for that.
"It was all about getting the right results and getting away from the bottom of the table and we have achieved that.
"There has been some positive signs lately and if we have learned from this season then that's encouraging for next year."
