ROY CONSIDERS WORLD CUP ROLE

Posted on: Fri 07 May 2010

Roy Keane is considering offers from TV companies to work at this summer's World Cup.

The Town boss has been approached by a number of leading broadcasters who are keen to include the former Republic of Ireland and Manchester United skipper in their line up of experts to cover the tournament.

"I've had one or two offers from TV companies to work at the World Cup and I might surprise everyone and go," Roy told the Club website. "I did say might!

"It would be a good opportunity to watch some games and hopefully Tommy Smith will be there with New Zealand so I might get the chance to see him in a World Cup environment.

"As a manager you are always watching matches anyway. Not necessarily to watch a particular player, just to enjoy a game."

Tommy will find out if he is included in New Zealand's squad for the finals next week when All Whites manager Ricki Herbert confirms his 23 players for the tournament.
