SKIPPER MISSES PSV GAME

Posted on: Fri 16 Jul 2010

Jon Walters will miss the trip to Holland at the weekend after being sidelined with a virus.

The Town skipper has sat out training for much of this week and has been left out of the squad of 18 that will take on PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion on Saturday.

Luciano Civelli is included in the travelling party as he looks to step up his recovery from knee ligament damage that left him on the sidelines for 18 months.

Youngsters Jack Ainsley, Troy Brown and Luke Hyam are also set to make the trip to Holland as Blues look to maintain a 100 per cent winning start to the pre-season schedule.

Town boss Roy Keane is expecting a completely different challenge though against the Dutch giants after wins at non-League Newmarket and Histon.

"The strength of the opposition will obviously be a lot higher and it will be a big test for us. We are aware of that but we're looking forward to it," Roy told the Club website.

"We are obviously going out to win the game but the main objective for us is the fitness levels and getting the players match time."
The game is being billed as part of a family fun day at PSV with events planned outside the stadium three hours before the 7.00pm kick-off.

A Town X1 are also in action at Great Yarmouth on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.
