BOSS: KIDS WILL GET THEIR CHANCE

Posted on: Tue 03 Aug 2010

Town boss Roy Keane will give his youngsters the chance to stake a claim for a place in his first-team squad when Blues take on Tottenham tonight.

The Premier League club provide Town's last opposition of the pre-season campaign at Portman Road, kick-off 7.45pm.

Spurs are set to include some international players in their line-up, with the likes of Luka Modric and Roman Pavlyuchenko in contention as they recover from injury.

With Blues' injury concerns mounting though, Roy is wary of the risk of picking up anymore ahead of the visit to Middlesbrough at the weekend.

"We will give some of the youngsters a chance tonight," Roy told the Club website.

"The injuries we have picked up lately have been very disappointing and we can't afford anymore with the main business coming up at the weekend.

"A lot has changed at this Club over the last three or four weeks and some of the younger players are getting a chance sooner maybe than we expected. They deserve their opportunity though and lads like Luke Hyam are in the team on merit."
