SKIPPER COOL ON TOP SIX TALK

Posted on: Tue 17 Aug 2010

David Norris is playing down any talk of staging a promotion bid until Town have made inroads into the season.

Despite having substantial injury concerns, Blues have impressed in taking four points off promotion favourites Middlesbrough and Burnley in the first two League games of the campaign and the odds have shortened at the bookies' on Roy Keane's side holding down a top six place come May.

But talking to Ipswich Player in an extensive and exclusive interview, the new Town skipper was quick to cool any initial thoughts of a bid for the Play-Offs.

"It's our aim, of course but we spoke so much about it last season," Chuck tells Player.

"We have had a good start to the season but we are only one week in and we're certainly not getting carried away.

"If we are up near the top after 15 games or so then maybe I will start thinking and talking about it then but not before."

Subscribers to the new look Player can watch the first part of the Big Interview with the new skipper later today, in which he talks about his role as captain and why he got good vibes off the Blue Army on Saturday.
