Paul Jewell has told the Club website that Town have made bids for five players over the last week or so.
The Blues' boss is looking to add to his squad before the January transfer window closes at the end of this month but is also eying beyond this campaign.
"We are looking to improve the team and not just for this season but in seasons going on," Paul told the Club website.
"We have offers in for five players. They are all players, young players, that are at an age that they can help take Ipswich Town on.
"We think the offers we have made are fair ones. Obviously we know the transfer deadline is approaching and we'd like to have some new faces here before the West Ham game but we will have to wait and see what happens.
"Signing a player now, any player, is so complicated - and so frustrating."
