Town are closing in on securing top European opposition for a home friendly on Saturday, July 31 in the build up to the new season.

The First Division campaign kicks-off a week later, on August 7 and discussions are on-going with the club with a decision hoped for by the end of the week.

Blues will also play Newcastle at Portman Road on Wednesday, July 28 in a testimonial for Dale Roberts, the former Town defender and assistant manager who passed away in February 2003 after a battle against cancer.
