Boss pleased with strikers
Joe Royle was delighted with the performances of his strikers as Town hit five goals past Oxford in Tuesday's friendly.
Darren Bent and Pablo Counago were both on target in the 5-1 win while Dean Bowditch created a number of openings and set up the final goal of the night, Jim Magilton converting his cross.
"We played three upfront and they were terrific for us against Oxford, plenty of movement and the goals came as well so we are delighted with that," says Joe.
Dean - impressed
"It was a good run out for us and it was important to see a positive result as well.
"We still have three games to play in our pre-season and I am looking for a continued improvement in both fitness and performance.
"I'm expecting a tough game against Crystal Palace on Saturday. They are a very fit side who certainly showed that against us at our place last season but that is what I want from our friendlies now - hard games."
Town kick-off against Palace at Portman Road on Satutrday, July 24. Kick-off 12.00pm. For ticket details click here.
