Jason set to skipper

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

Jason De Vos will skipper Town on Saturday if he plays and Jim Magilton is ruled out with a thigh injury.

Town captain Jim is struggling with a tear in his thigh and is rated doubtful for the season's opener against Gillingham.

Jason, who skippered Wigan, has already taken the armband for Town in the pre-season friendlies but is facing a race against time to be fit for the weekend himself after suffering a knee injury in Monday's win against Osasuna.

"Jim is very doubtful at this stage but we will see how he is over the next 24 hours before making a decision," Joe told the Club website.

"If he doesn't make it, Jason De Vos will skipper the side providing he recovers from his own injury.

"He will train on Friday and we will see how he goes. If he's out and Jim's out then I will have to sit down and think about who's going to skipper the team."
