Jason De Vos is confident he will be fit to face Derby on Saturday after coming through 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

The Canadian international is carrying a knee injury and needed a late fitness test before Wednesday night's game at the City Ground.

"I shouldn't have really played at Nottingham because the knee was very sore," he told the Club website.

"But I've had a session in the swimming pool this morning and it feels a lot better than it did 24 hours ago.

"We will have to see how it reacts to training on Friday but hopefully I'll be fine for Derby at the weekend."

Jason will report for World Cup duty with Canada on Sunday, flying to Amsterdam and then on to Vancouver to prepare for the qualifier against Guatemala.

"What happens next week will depend on my fitness for the Derby game and any reaction after that," adds Jason.

"Although playing for my country is important to me, my responsibility to Ipswich obviously comes first."
