Dean Bowditch has been named in the England U19 squad for a friendly against the Republic of Ireland.

The striker reports for duty on Sunday, September 5 with the game taking place four days later in Ireland.

Dean has been capped by England from U15 level upwards and his call-up comes at the end of a week that has seen Ian Westlake, Matt Richards, Darren Bent and Lewis Price all away on U21 international duty.
