Jim's rallying call to Pablo

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

Town skipper Jim Magilton has called on Pablo Counago to let his boots do the talking and show the form that everyone at Portman Road knows he is capable of.

The Spanish striker has voiced his disappointment this week at his lack of first-team opportunities but Jim says he will get his chance if he keeps working at his game.

    Jim - words of encouragement

"The players all know what Pablo is capable of here," the midfielder tells the Club website.

"He is a quality player with so many good things about his game and the gaffer has made it pretty clear that if he is firing on all cylinders then he will be in the team. Simple as that.

"But I think if Pablo is honest about the situation, he will accept that perhaps he has not reached the level he can on a consistent basis this year.

"He has to keep working hard at his game and be patient and when the opportunity comes along, take it.

"Dean Bowditch has been in a similar situation this season and spent time on the bench but was given his chance against Coventry and was outstanding for us."
