Boss chasing up targets

Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004

With Darren Bent emerging as an injury worry, Joe Royle has been chasing up some initial enquiries he has made over players' availability for loans.

The England U21 striker returned from international duty with a tight hamstring and Blues are waiting the results of a scan to see the extent of the damage.

If it's a tear, then the player could face three to four weeks on the sidelines and Town boss Joe says: "Bearing in mind Darren's situation I have been making a few calls to see if the players we have asked about before are now available.

"If they are not, then we will go with what we have against Burnley on Saturday and there will be no excuses."

Both Darren and Kelvin look certain to miss the weekend action, the Town No.1 is also sidelined,  with a back problem.
