Danny Karbassiyoon will be staying at Town until March after Arsenal agreed to extend his loan for another two months.

The 20-year-old American defender joined the Club on month's loan on December 21 and has since impressed in his time at Portman Road.

After making his first start for Town in the win at Plymouth, he has held down the left-back berth, playing against Bolton in the FA Cup and Saturday's win over Coventry.

Danny made it clear that he hoped to extend his stay beyond the month and Blues' boss Joe Royle was equally keen to keep him at the Club.

"We took Danny a little bit blind in a way, although we had seen him in the reserves for Arsenal," says Joe.

"His match fitness is improving now as he gets games under his belt and we are very pleased to have him here. He's doing well."

Danny admitted he had a difficult 90 minutes against the impressive Gary McSheffrey in Town's 3-2 win over Coventry at the weekend, though.

" It was a tough game for me. McSheffrey was tricky and he liked running at me and he was involved a whole lot during the game," says the American U19 international.

"But it's all part of the learning curve for me and even though the game didn't go as well as I would have wished personally it was still a great experience."
