Dean signs

Posted on: Mon 07 Feb 2005

Dean McDonald has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Club until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old striker has impressed since being at Portman Road on trial since Christmas and is included in the reserve team line-up for the match against Arsenal tonight.

And Dean, who was released by the Gunners last year after being at Highbury as an apprentice, has set his sights on winning a permanent contract at Portman Road.

"It's great to sign and I am really enjoying myself at Ipswich," Dean told the Club website.

"I've made some friends here already and hopefully I can stay here longer than the end of the season.

"That's my target, to impress the manager, force my way into the first-team squad and perhaps get a few games as well and then hopefully win myself a permanent contract."
