Joe Royle was happy with the points but not with the way Town gave away three goals to a Rotherham side destined for the drop.

Blues were cruising at 4-1 with less than 30 minutes to go but the Millers fought back to reduce the arrears to just one goal and set up a grandstand finish.

A finish that Joe said should never have happened.

"We had some harsh words to say after the game because we should never have been hanging on like that," the Town boss said after the 4-3 win.

"At 4-1, we had several players that switched off and we pressed the self-destruct button.

"You have to give credit to Rotherham, they were very honest and caused us problems all game.

"I wasn't happy even in the first-half when we were on top and overall we gave away some bad goals.

"It was a tighter game than it should have been and at 4-1, we should have been looking to add to our goal difference.

"In the end though it's another three points and with Wigan losing, it puts us second and in a good position."

The defeat confirms Rotherham's relegation to League One.
