Jaime Peters' future at Portman Road looks to be uncertain with work permit issues complicating any possible stay beyond the end of his contract.

The 19-year-old winger's current deal at the Club comes to an end this summer and despite beginning the season in the side he has drifted out of the first-team picture recently with just one start in the last two months.

Town had to go to appeal to get a work permit clearance for Jaime to join the Club in the summer of 2005 after the initial application was rejected.

That work permit expires in June 2007 and with Jaime not being a regular in the Canadian national team nor the Town side - requirements for a work permit to be granted - that puts a question mark over his future.

Town boss Jim Magilton acknowledged the situation and also hinted that Martin Brittain is likely to be given a chance to stake a claim for a place on the right flank.

"We're aware of the work permit issue with Jaime and we'll just have to see how things go," Jim told the Club website.

"He needs to keep working hard but we also have Martin Brittain back in the squad now after his loan at Yeovil. He's been playing games and did well there and I want to give him the opportunity to show us what he can do."
