TOP TWO THE TARGET
David Norris is targeting an automatic promotion place with Town as he prepares to make his home debut for Blues against Watford.
The midfielder and fellow newboys Stephen Bywater, Nick Colgan and Velice Sumulikoski will all be in the squad for Saturday's showdown against the second placed Hornets at Portman Road, with victory taking Blues to within four points of Aidy Boothroyd's side.
"We are nicely placed, and looking around the training ground we have the squad to have a real chance," says David talking in Saturday's matchday programme.
"We deserved to win last week at Sheffield Wednesday and I was surprised that it had been such a long time coming for an away win.
"The way Ipswich approach games is very attack-minded. I have seen first-hand how many chances the team creates, so it was a shock that the boys had gone so long without a win. Now it would be nice to put a few more together as we push on.
"Promotion is wide open in this league and I reckon 10 or more clubs believe they could still win automatic promotion, let alone finish in the Play-Off places. We are one of them."
Town have only one injury worry with Alan Quinn suffering with an ankle injury while Jobi McAnuff is suspended for the visitors.
Watford will have a 1500 strong support at Portman Road for what will be one of the biggest crowds at Town this season. Tickets are still available for the game though. Full details on the ticket page of the Club website.
