Town have been given a boost with Jon Walters and Shefki Kuqi both included in the squad for Sunday's derby against Norwich.

Jon is three weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery from cartilage surgery and trained with the team on Friday while Shefki is also in contention to feature in the derby after recovering from a hamstring strain.

With Pablo Counago back from a three match suspension, Town boss Jim Magilton has options in attack.

"Jon has worked very hard under the supervision of our medical team and we are delighted with the progress he has made," Town boss Jim Magilton told the Club website.

"We will have another look at him in training today and go from there but he is in the squad for the derby.

"Shefki is also in contention. Again, he has worked hard and we will make a late call on him after assessing his fitness."

Jim goes into Sunday's derby defending a record of one win and two draws in his three games as Town boss against the Canaries and is relishing the clash in front of a full house at Portman Road.

"I loved the games against Norwich when I was a player here. They are fantastic occasions for the supporters and the players alike," says Jim.

"Local bragging rights are up for grabs, the supporters create a wonderful atmosphere and that adds some extra spice to the game.

"There is no hiding the fact that the match is massive one for us in more ways than one. We need the three points to keep us right in there fighting for the Play-Offs.

"What I do want from my players though, more than anything else is a real performance from them, one I know they can give.

"If they give me everything and come off that pitch out on their feet, then I will take that every time. I want a display full of tempo, full of energy, full of desire. If I get that, win or lose - I will back them all the way.

"The supporters, as always, will have a part to play as well and I'm sure they will get right behind the team and turn up the volume. But while the fans can lift the players - and make no mistake they can - the players have to lift the fans as well and that is what I'm looking from us.

The game kicks-off at 12.00 noon and is a sell-out. Supporters are asked to arrive at the ground in plenty of time.

The Club are out to turn the stadium blue by handing out 30,000 blue cards at the turnstiles for supporters to hold aloft as the players emerge from the tunnel before kick-off.

Sunday is also deadline day for Early Bird season tickets. Full details on the ticket page of the Club website.
