Jordan Rhodes passed the 30-goal mark as the reserves swept aside the visitors from across the border.

Ed Upson gave Blues the lead on 25 minutes with a header from a Gavin Williams cross before Rhodes found the net with a header after Liam Trotter had hit the bar.

Gary Roberts, back at Town after an Achilles injury cut short his loan stay at Crewe, made it three on 75 minutes with Chris Casement adding a fourth soon after.

Rhodes completed the scoring with his 31st goal of the season in the last few minutes, the teenager on target from the penalty spot after he had been brought down.
