SUPPORTERS' FORUM

Posted on: Mon 06 Oct 2008

The first Supporters' Forum of the season took place on September 13 with a panel of fans joining Club staff to discuss all matters Blue.

The topics discussed included:

Three stars on a limited number of replica shirts
The Club said that while there is no evidence that the three stars increase sales of shirts, the limited edition shirts are primarily available for pre-order sales. The pre-order system helps the Club improve sales from a logistical point of view. Feedback from the Forum members suggested that children would prefer shirts with three stars so the Club agreed to discuss the possibility of including three stars on all replica shirts for children. It was also agreed that the Club would make fans more aware that there is a pre-order facility online. The Club also confirmed the launch of a new online shop.

Pre-match and half-time entertainment
The Club confirmed a new group of cheerleaders for this season after the last group had disbanded. It was also confirmed that the Blues Cruise half-time game would take place at the North Stand end of the ground to protect the centre circle area of the pitch that gets a lot of wear and tear.

Club website
The Club confirmed its stance on not entering into speculation regarding player transfer stories on the official website. It was discussed whether a 'what the papers' say section should be added to the Club website but the Forum agreed that it was not necessary and that the Club's line in not getting involved in speculation was the correct one.

Start of season
It was asked whether the Club could discuss with the Football League the possibility of putting the start of the season back to September to avoid fans missing games in the busy August holiday period. The Club confirmed gates are affected in August because of holiday commitments but agreed that it would raise the issue with the Football League, although with international match scheduling change would be unlikely.
