The topics discussed by the Club and the fans forum in November included…
Ticket concessions for students over the age of 20
The Club advised that there is a wider price range for season tickets to take in over 60s, under 20s and students over 20 in full time education. There are three prices for match day tickets - adult, under 16 and concessions which covers all others.
More flexibility for season ticket holders who wish to bring a guest to the game
A season ticket holder can transfer their seat for a game and relocate to another area where there is sufficient seating for their guest(s).The Club said it would look to promote this service better
Future plans for ticketing, perhaps moving away from paper ticketing
The Club orders 600,000 paper tickets per season and considered that paper tickets would continue to be used for sometime, alongside cards. The Club is investigating the possibility of using more plastic cards, ie membership cards that could be used for stadium access on an ad hoc basis. The difficulty would be in notifying supporters as to the seat they had been allocated. The Club is also investigating the use of a bar code system on cards and tickets rather than chips. The information would be stored online as opposed to on the card. The use of bar codes will potentially increase in the future. The Club sends approximately 10,000 pieces of mail per month and the use of cards could significantly reduce costs. In addition the Club will be investigating the potential of using a cashless card system for the purchase of refreshments. The possibility of e-mailing a match ticket rather than produce a paper ticket was raised but while this is common practice in the US, it is not popular in the UK due to security and fraud issues.
The ball boys. Are they trained and how are they selected?
The Community Trust manage the ball boys. The boys and girls are recruited from the Players Development Centre or the Girls Centre of Excellence. At the start of the season Jim Magilton briefed the ball boys.In some clubs the ball boys are used to the advantage of the home team but ours are briefed to be fair to both teams. Clubs elect to have either a multi or single ball system at the start of the season.Jim Magilton chose the single ball, which suits our ground better.
Away Match Passport holders
There are currently 112 AMPs.The Club is reviewing all membership schemes and agreed that it would be good to reward AMPs in some way.
TeamCard
The Club confirmed the launch with Asda has been successful from Town's point of view and it is hoped that this will be extended to include other local branches.
